Security & data

Your owners' data, looked after.

Names, addresses, balances, payments: communal fees involve sensitive data. Here's where it lives, who can see it and how access is controlled.

EUTLSGDPRStripe

Hosted in the EU

Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Where a sub-processor handles data outside the EEA, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards.

Encrypted

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting providers.

Cards stay with Stripe

Owners' card details are collected directly by Stripe and never touch our servers. We only receive the last four digits.

Role-based access

Admins, team members with per-area permissions, committee, owners and tenants — each sees only what concerns them.

Document visibility

Every document has a visibility level: private, shared, owners only, tenants only, committee only or company-wide.

Activity log

Every create, change, void and delete is recorded with the user and time, for full accountability.

FAQ

Security questions.

Where is the data stored?

Communfy's infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Sub-processors and transfer safeguards are listed in the privacy policy.

Can owners see other owners' data?

No. Owners only see their own units, invoices and payments, and what has been shared with the building. Tenants only see the unit they rent.

Who can see card details?

No one at Communfy. Card payments are made on Stripe, which collects and processes card details directly.

How do I request a DPA or exercise GDPR rights?

Email privacy@communfy.com. Owners and tenants should contact their management company or committee first, as the controller of their data.
